AGM Notice
Our Annual General Meeting will take place in November 2023. If you would like to join us or become a committee member, please ensure you are up to date with your subscriptions and verify further details on the website to send your interest. Please contact us via the numbers provided and social media details provided and we will be happy to inform you of our processes.
Please refer to our website for more details. The 2023 AGM is planned for the 19th November 2023. Should there be a low turnout; in line with our constitution; the AGM will then be postponed and take place on the following Sunday 26th November 2023. We look forward to welcoming members to the AGM

We are happy to announce that the Mauritian Marathi Society will be hosting Ganesh Chaturthi 2021 on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th September 2021 @ The Darji Mitra Mandal, Oakthorpe Road, N13 5JL.
With this in mind, we request that you check the website and social media outlet for the latest information with regards to any changes that may occur between now and the above dates.
We also strongly advise to wear a mask or face covering when attending.

We hope everyone is keeping safe and well.
Over the past few weeks, we have been closely monitoring the Covid-19 situation in the UK along with following government's advice and announcements on a weekly basis. Since the end of 2020 various strains/variants of the virus have appeared which has meant a lockdown in the UK since late 2020. This lockdown will continue into March with the likelihood that there will be only a slight lift of restrictions when the lockdown is ended.
The official government announcement has laid out plans for the gradual lifting of restrictions in the UK between now and June.
With this in mind, it is with great sadness that we are announcing that the Mauritian Marathi Society will not be hosting Maha Shivratree.
This has been an extremely difficult decision to make but the safety and wellbeing of our followers comes first. With the current Covid-19 pandemic we have deemed this is the safest and most sensible option to take.
We would like to thank you for your understanding. Conditions permitting, we look forward to welcoming you back to Ganesh Chaturthi later this year.

On behalf of the Mauritian Marathi Society, we would like to thank everyone who joined in with us during the live stream of Ganesh Chaturthi 2020. Owing to the fluctuating nature of the COVD-19 pandemic, it meant we had to make a difficult decision for the festival. In the end we decided that the festival would still go ahead but at a reduced scale and behind closed doors, which still meant plenty of work ahead.
The introduction of a live stream for the entire festival duration was a first for the Society. The live streaming was an overwhelming success with plenty of people watching live and watching later in the day. The feedback for this has been extremely positive and we look forward to setting this up again next year. Thank you to all those who subscribed to our YouTube channel.
We would like to thank all those who assisted before, during and after the festival with the setup/build. Without your help this festival would not have been possible. At the same time, we thank all those who supported us with food/drinks & financial donations.
A big thank you to all the committee members & Pundit Trydev for their assistance during this festival.
We are hoping to see you in 2020, if not, 2021. More information will be made available depending on the current pandemic situation over the next 6 months.
In the meantime, stay safe and look after yourselves. Ganpathi Bappa Morya!
